Ishai sharon who is the Head of the Roses Department with Flower Optimal Connection informs the team that after 3 weeks of very high prices, the last 2 weeks saw the market price drop to “normal”. He further adds, “For the colors, the prices were not good at all, and the prices for all red roses came under pressure in those last two weeks.”
Ishai is however glad to report that next week Poland will be celebrating their Teacher’s day and the week after they are going to be observing their All Saints Day on the 1st of November. These activities according to Ishai will see the demand for flowers rise significantly.
The weather in Europe has changed notably. This is considering that summer is behind us now. In Africa on the other hand, the weather in Ethiopia has turned out to be very cold, more so at night where the temperatures are falling under 8 deg. In some of the growing areas in Ethiopia, Ishai notes that production levels have started to decline as a result of the cold weather pattern.
In conclusion Ishai Sharon in his forecast, states that he’s very hopeful and even expects that in the coming two weeks, the markets will get even better and the prices will definitely improve greatly.
